Summer is many people’s favourite time of year and not just because of the warm sunshine, trips to the beach or music festivals. For some, it is also a time of very pleasant smells, from the flowers in the garden and freshly-mown grass to the sea. Some even love the smell of sun cream.
Sadly, summer does not just bring some nice smalls, but a few very unpleasant ones as well, often direct results of the effects of the hot weather. These can bring localised nasty smells outdoors, but also produce very unpleasant pong inside, be it in the home, office or place of leisure.
Offices can be the worst places to endure a smell, because there is less opportunity to get away from it when you are duty bound to be at your desk for hours on end. This is where a commercial air freshener could make your premises a much better place to be this summer.
At the same time, however, some of them can match the worst smells in the home, especially if your office has a kitchen. If things are rotting in a bin, the sink is messy or items have been in (or worse still, out of) the fridge for far too long, this part of your premises can be very unpleasant at this time of year, when these effects are made worse in the heat.
Sweat and body odour can be the worst of all. Of course, staff should take care with their personal hygiene but, when it is very hot people may be sweating even in the office, as well as during the lunch break when they can’t resist popping out into the sunshine. Not every deodorant will last the day.
None of these bad smells are exclusive to summer, but the hot weather can make them worse and also increase the desire to be outdoors and away from the office, harming productivity. By giving your office a more pleasant odour, you can prevent summer being a time of nasty niffs.
